About

Hello & welcome! I'm Kate Mason.

I’m a self taught visual artist/ Illustrator & I've loved making whimsical little creations ever since I could hold a crayon. I'm versatile in many traditional mediums + digital media.

I started my creative journey with paper, paint & collage before falling in love with illustration & surface pattern design. My current medium of choice is digital illustration but I still dream in paint, collage & textiles.

Right now, I work from my tiny home studio in Adelaide, South Australia where I live with my husband Jeff, 5 children & 2 chihuahuas BUT someday...... I dream of converting a warehouse space, fire station or some other unconventional building to pursue my visual art practice full time.

I am a passionate born & bred Adelaidian & love celebrating everything about my home city, state + country. I've worked with many Adelaide brands, including SA Tourist Commission, City of Adelaide, SALA, Patritti Wines + many other clients over the years to bring their vision to life through illustration. My work has been published in many international & Australian magazines for both editorial & paper crafting + SA Life, Pip Magazine, The Advertiser, scrapbooking/papercrafting magazines + more.

Living & working on Kaurna Land.

I would like to acknowledge the land I live & work on today is the traditional lands of the Kaurna people and that I respect their spiritual relationship with their country. I pay respect to elders both past, present & emerging.
