I remember as a 4 year old at kindergarten discovering drawing & it hitting me like lightning. I've been obsessed with all things arty & collecting art materials ever since then.
As a young girl I coveted stationery. My father brought me back stickers & novelty erasers from Japan. As a teen I discovered rubber stamping as an art form. I love mail art!
In my 20's I discovered scrapbooking. I had a successful tenure as a widely published scrapbooker, on several design teams & co-authored 2 scrapbooking books.
In my 30's it was mixed media that became my passion.
I love arty mess. I love tiny morsels of pretty patterned papers & vintage fabrics. I love ephemera, handwriting & scribbles. I love painting! And I love sweet whimsical characters.
So, I made canvases, put them on my blog & they all sold. I opened up an online shop & haven't looked back.
I had been squeezing all the bits required to run my little business into all the tiny cracks in my life between raising my 5 little children with my husband & all that goes along with that AND doing part time graphics work from home.
Now that I'm in my 50's and all my children are all young adults, illustrating & surface pattern design have become my new loves. I create patterns & illustration both on a freelance basis for clients + creating new art for my own products. I've come to love managing the entire manufacturing process.
So there you have it! Thats my crazy creative story. Welcome.
